2020 has been a strong year for Pinterest.
During lockdown, the platform has reported increased users and record levels of engagement, as we all look for inspiration and escapism while stuck at home. There are now 400m monthly active users. 7m in AU, 15m UK, 5M Japan, 90M US and since COVID, searches and new boards created are up 60%. It’s clear that the platform is a lucrative opportunity for marketers and creators alike – if you know how to use it correctly.
In this webinar, Pinterest’s Creators Lead, Sophie Shepherd, and Digital Creator, Jenelle Witty joined Vamp’s Head of Content, Lauren Thomas. They shared their tips on effective Pinterest strategies and explained how it can be used as a tool to drive website traffic, awareness and sales.
#1 Be active
A little time investment goes a long way. Pin regularly and add as much as you can. Activity will also show up in your follower’s notification keeping you top of mind.
#2 Practical titles
Think discoverability. Use terms Pinners will search for so you’ll be included in their search results. No whimsical titles.
#3 Use your analytics
Upgrade to a Business account and you’ll have access to data about how your pins are performing. This will help you to refine your strategy in a reactive way.
#4 Test video
It’s an underused format on Pinterest, but can generate great engagement. Try repurposing videos or cinemagraphs.
